Band History

The Borinquen Blues Band started with a group of musicians who had known each other for many years and had also played in various groups.

Pedro Robles and David (El Chino) Camacho played with the Latin Jazz Express, where they opened for Alex Bugnon, David Benoit, Stanley Tarantine, and various Salsa groups.

Bobby (Robert) Montano was a member of the Joe Bataan group, a famous Latin group. He also played with Luis Andino, and a host of Doo Wop Hall of Famers.

Mr. Lee Robertson played with Kid Creole and the Coconuts, and also with Jay and the Americans.

Willie Colon played with Bimbo Jet, whose Latin influenced disco song “El Bimbo” rose to #1 on the music charts, selling 14 ˝ million records worldwide, went gold and was featured in the movie “Police Academy”. Willie also played with Flyer.

Dante Delemos plays with Mankind, Earl Lewis & The Channels, and other groups.

Miss Eileen Murphy played with Little Buster. She served 6 years in the army as a drummer, and traveled with the Allman Brothers Band.

Carlito Baez played with many groups in California.

Mark Narciss was a saxophone player with D-Train, a very well known R&B & Jazz group. He has played with many Salsa bands and Gospel groups.
