Hi! I’m David Camacho, founder of the Borinquen Blues Band, keyboardist, lead singer and composer. I was born in New York City’s Spanish Harlem, aka “El Barrio”. My music is a mix of all the styles that have influenced me. I started playing when I was very young, in a Pentecostal Church, so Gospel was my beginning. Then Latin, R&B, Rock, Jazz… anything with music.

I’ve had the honor of playing with Reparata and the Delrons, Vito & the Salutations, Lenny Cocco and the Chimes, The Cadillacs, The Dubs, The Drifters, Johnnie Wilder of Heatwave, and Earl Lewis & The Channels, with whom I still play and am Musical Director for.

I also had the honor to sing with Jerry Jemmott, legendary Motown bass player. I'm also credited (CD Production Credits) with providing vocals on the CD bundled with his book, Jerry Jemmott: Blues And R&B Bass Techniques (Mastery of Blues, Soul, and Funk Styles).

Let the music of the Borinquen Blues Band touch your hearts and souls!!
