With encouragement from her family not to settle for traditional “stereotype” girl roles, Eileen Murphy started playing drums and percussion at the age of 8 and has not looked back. After high school, Eileen performed with the Army Band throughout Europe, the Southeast U.S., and parts of the Middle East where she drummed for troops during Desert Storm.
Upon leaving the service she began freelancing and playing with popular local bands including Little Buster and the Soul Brothers. Eileen has been drumming with the Kerry Kearney Band for the past 12 years, during which time they have toured nationally with acts such as The Allman Brothers and have been included in international festivals such as the Guinness Blues Fest in Ireland.
